2019 'Eddie Would Go' Essay Contest Judging Session
A big Mahalo to HAIP members Chenise Blalock, Carolyn Pearl, Martin Beardeaux, Gail Nakasone and Linda Ipsen who helped with judging the annual essay contest for the Eddie Aikau Foundation. Several public and private school students in grades 7-10 submitted essays for this year's topic: Kapu Aloha (to act with restraint, love, and understanding) when faced with confrontation or opposition, which Eddie Aikau practiced as a Ka'i (proctector, guardian) of Waimea Bay and the Hawaiian culture. The students were to provide examples of these values in Eddie's life.
