Margo Makatani

Not necessarily an insurance person, Margo has held executive administrative positions within the insurance industry for 22 years. Beginning in 1995, she joined the newly-created NCCI (National Council on Compensation Insurance) organization as the Administrative Assistant to the General Manager. Then in 2000, she accepted the position of Executive Assistant to HEMIC’s then CEO/President. With changes in management, she currently manages the administrative duties for the CEO of the organization. Prior to her insurance service, she held executive administrative positions for a variety of corporations, honing her executive skills: E. E. Black (general contractors), Foremost Dairies (dairy products), and Camera Hawaii (professional photography). Her career experiences have been put to good use since joining Honolulu Association of Insurance Women in 1999 (now known as Honolulu Association of Insurance Professionals), serving two years as Secretary, three years on the Reservations Committee, teaching one session CWC, and currently chairs the Membership Committee. Her favorite past times include membership in the Red Hat Society, crafting and traveling.
